Hey, I’m Susi!
I coach piano teachers through every stage of their careers—launching a new studio, revitalizing an established practice, or deepening their pedagogical approach. My training spans Suzuki, traditional piano instruction, Kodály, Solfège, and Music Mind Games with Michiko Yurko. Beyond the piano, my background runs from Commedia dell’Arte and musical theater to composition, improvisation, ensemble singing, and sacred choir direction.
That range is what lets me help teachers build studios that are creative and well-rounded—not copies of anyone else’s. And with four children of my own, I bring the perspective most coaches are missing: the parent’s. Parents are the invisible force behind every studio’s culture. To understand the parent is to understand your studio.
I don’t just teach this—I live it. My own studio, Hill City Studio in Lynchburg, Virginia, has been running and full for years.
